It means that ACRONET’s monitoring systems are designed with the policy of free software (Open Source): all design artefacts, such as diagrams, drawings, printed circuit boards, are published on the Internet free of charge to allow anyone to realise them independently, or to contribute to the project.

Unlike recipes published on the Internet, with a list of ingredients and a recipe to follow, in the case of a Station all you have to do is buy the ingredients, i.e. a Kit, and download the software with one click. Everyone will be able to improve the design software for the benefit of other users.

No. The unit cost of the system is lowered by eliminating those costs normally associated with the industrialisation of production processes, and the direct use of unskilled personnel available locally.

It is a remote observation system, which allows the user to check what is happening at any time. Each monitoring system consists of a measurement system, to be installed near the installation site, and ACRONETWORK, an IT infrastructure at which the sampled measurements are collected via the Internet, and at which the trend can be viewed in geographical context. In addition, the user can set thresholds, being informed by e-mail or SMS when they are exceeded.

Significant cost savings are achieved by eliminating the work involved in the field installation of the stations, which is carried out independently by the end user. Furthermore, the open project concept allows independence from any particular supplier company, and all operations can be outsourced to non-specialist third parties.

ACRONET Paradigm is based on the application of Metrology, the science that deals with measurements and their applications. Through the application of Paradigm, many monitoring systems can be realised, which are useful in various technical and scientific fields, including Meteorology. Hydrology, air quality monitoring, water pollution, environmental safety, civil protection, and many other fields are supported by specific ACRONET configurations. The continuous expansion of the developer community and the existing relationships between the initiated projects will lead to a large and continuous increase in measurement systems and their fields of application.

The easiest way is to order a Do-It-Yourself Kit: all that will be required for assembly and installation is a little manual dexterity, and a few tools normally found in any toolbox. A vertical pole will have to be positioned, to which the various elements (Station, Solar Panel and Sensors) will be attached. In case the catalogue of configurations does not suit a specific case, just contact us! In fact, ACRONET is a modular system: new configurations can be created on request, with different assortments or new sensors or devices.

Data from all stations are updated every 5 minutes, and are always available on the ACRONETWORK portal. Each user is sent credentials to access the private area, from which data can be viewed and downloaded to their PC. Thresholds for e-mail and/or SMS notifications can also be set. Finally, one can query stations directly from one’s smartphone, via a chat operated by a Telegram bot. Both access to the portal and the BOT are free of charge.
