Monitoring systems

The ACRONET paradigm refers to the more general definition of “Measuring System” as defined by the third release of the International Vocabulary of Metrology (VIM3), published and maintained by the “Bureau International de Poids et Mesures de” (BIPM, ISO Institution).

Configurations

The architectural scheme of the “Measuring Chain,” and, more generally, of all the “Measuring Systems” compliant with the ACRONET Paradigm is very simple, and, even with different facets, accompanies all types of “configurations”.

Each configuration is achieved by a suitable combination of proper “modular” ACRONET (realized in full compliance of the Paradigm), and third-party modular components (e.g. sensors, poles, solar panels, etc.).

Actually, the following configurations are defined:

“Outdoor” Configurations
They are designed to realize in-the-field professional networks. The configurations involves the use of a GPRS or Wi-Fi connection to transmit data between indoor and outdoor sides.
“Urban” Configurations
Designed to take advantage from the urban connectivity for receiving and transmitting data to and from the infrastructure ACRONETWORK. Those configurations are characterized by the distribution of the elements of the measurement chain into two distinct parts.
“Ambient” Configurations
They deal with the requirements of “remote” and “local” monitoring in the indoor environment. The connection with the ACRONETWORK infrastructure may occur either wirelessly (network “Moblle” or “WiFi”) and through the urban connectivity (ADSL) if present.
“Mobile” Configurations
They meet all the requirements of remote monitoring in outdoor environment on a mobile basis. They are designed to be installed on vehicles (bicycle, motorcycle, car, train, bus, etc.) or people (wearable).
