The measuring chain involves combining a mechanical rain gauge receiver, third parties, and a remote station completed under Paradigm.

As a measuring instrument was used to model “15189” of Lambrecht producer with “bucket” in stainless steel, complies with WMO standards, and VEGAPULS C21 (supplier Nesa).

The station is the ACROSTATION device family “O” (outdoor) released in 03a release.

In the station it is included Electronic card ACROboard “Station” v02, in its latest release. This card is dedicated both to the collection function and data transmission (via GPRS, with internal antenna) that the supply management of energy to the components (and charging the buffer battery).

Power is supplied by a 20W Solar Panel, combined with a 12V buffer battery and 12 Ah. The connection between the station and the solar panel is through the dedicated cable and protected by the sheath against solar radiation and atmospheric agents.

As regards the actual operation of the configuration, the station receives the signal from the instrument and generates, with the same continuity, the time series data in native form. The configuration of the firmware (pre-installed in the microcontroller onboard the ACROBoard Station, for the first ignition is stored in the memory of the basic configuration files) allows metadating, the time integration, and a first control accuracy by filtering any values consistent.

Finally, the GPRS module, with a non-encrypted HTTP protocol, transmits data in accordance with the configuration file ACRONETWORK infrastructure, with update rates of the order of minutes.

Under normal irradiation of the site, the power is ensured exclusively from solar sources via the supplied panel to the station.

The DIY kit contains all the material and the documentation necessary for the realization in own and on-site installation of your monitoring station ACRONET. End user remains only the task of assembling the individual components and place them in a “work” according to the types of fasteners indicated. For configurations connected to the infrastructure via wireless GPRS simply insert a SIM card enabled for GPRS data traffic (2G). From that moment all data read and sent according to the file will be sent to the infrastructure set-up and remains available to portal ACRONETWORK.ORG.
