The measuring chain involves the combination of a third party rain gauge with a remote station made in accordance with the Paradigm. The measuring devices is the rain gauge model “15189” with stainless steel bucket, WMO (World Meteorological Organization) compliant, produced by Lambrecht GmbH. The station is the ACROSTATION device family “O” (outdoor) released in 03A release. The ACROboard “Station” v02 board is included in the Station, in its latest release. This board is aimed at datalogging, communication (via GPRS) and power management (supplying components and charging the buffer battery). The power is supplied by a 20W solar panel combined with a buffer battery 12V 12Ah. Operationally, the station receives the signal from the instrument and generates, with the same continuity, the time series data in native form. The firmware developed for the Configuration allows metadating, time integration, and a first control of accuracy by filtering any unconsistent value. A basic configuration file is pre-installed in the microcontroller onboard the ACROBoard Station. Finally, the GPRS module, with an unencrypted HTTP protocol, transmits data in accordance with the configuration file to the ACRONETWORK infrastructure, with the update frequency of the order of minutes. Tips for Mounting and installation The installation requires using a single pole in galvanized iron, possibly Ø 50mm., allowing to put in place the station (containing box), the solar panel and the sensor. The pole can be anchored to an existing structure by means of suitable clamps or fixed to a plinth arranged through a glass structure and bolts. Pole, eventual clamps and the glass/bolts system are not furnished within the corresponding DIY Kit.
You can use the firmware to manage the electronic side of the apparatuses, while the basic implementation is fundamental to run the system

For this configuration the DIY KIT is available
The DIY kit contains all the material and the documentation necessary for the realization in own and on-site installation of your monitoring station ACRONET. End user remains only the task of assembling the individual components and place them in a “work” according to the types of fasteners indicated. For configurations connected to the infrastructure via wireless GPRS simply insert a SIM card enabled for GPRS data traffic (2G). From that moment all data read and sent according to the file will be sent to the infrastructure set-up and remains available to portal ACRONETWORK.ORG.
