Measuring Chain

The measuring chain is featured at each site of installation by the coupling of a measuring instrument dedicated to the hydrometrical level and a remote station both realized in compliance of the ACRONET Paradigm. The station hosts the Datalogger and rice-transmission of data functionalities. Data are transmitted directly through the GPRS module mounted in the station that has been programmed to send data to both the ACRONETWORK infrastructure and even to a remote server made ​​available by the Administration, using the MQTT standard protocol.

Devices and physical connections

The selected measuring instrument is the “ULG o02” from the ACROSENSOR family realized ad-hoc by integrating the transducer MB7040 from MaxBotix. Also in this case, the device ACROSTATION o02A of the "O" (outdoor) family of stations is the Datalogger identified. It is  issued for the occasion in release o02 A that means it is featured by a GPRS external antenna and a standard power module (Solar Panel, electronic board and Battery). The connection between the apparatuses is through the cable the measuring instrument is equipped with, with no remarkable limits for installation. The cable from the measuring instrument dedicated to the hydrometrical level can be directly connected to the serial port available in the ACROboard Station v01 r09 contained in the station.

Signals, data and protocols

The station receives the signal of the ACROSENSOR ULG o02 temperature-compensated (with an internal thermometric sensor) generating with the same continuity the timeseries of data in native format. The firmware of the configurataion allows the metadating, the integration in time, and an early check of the accuracy by filtering eventual anomalous values. Finally, the GPRS module transmits data according with the configuration file to both the ACRONETWORK, in compliance with a simple HTTP not encripted protocol, and to a server owned by ARPA Veneto, in a manner consistent with the MQTT protocol.

Power

Considering the solar radiation characteristics of the site, the power is supplied exclusively by the solar panel the station is equipped with.

Implementation

To make the configuration operational, the corresponding firmware (available at the bottom of this page) has to be installed, by using the appropriate programmer, in the MIC which is mounted on the ACROboard Station (equipping the station itself). Similarly, at the first run, the base configuration file (available at the bottom of this page) that makes available the dialog with the ACRONETWORK infrastructure has to be uploaded.

Mounting and Installing

The assembly included a outreach stainless steel hosting the sensor on the one hand and the anchoring system on the other.

This area includes both the firmware dedicated to this specific Configuration and the basic implementation. You can use the firmware to manage the electronic side of the apparatuses, while the basic implementation is fundamental to run the system (define parameters, position, etc.). Firmware

The Firmware is the program (sequence of instructions) that has to be integrated directly into the microcontroller placed on the ACROBoard selected for the Configuration. Basic Implementation
